This month has brought some heat akin to summer, almost everything became green nearly overnight and the trees showered us with their sweet, apple blossoms! I so enjoy this time of year! It's light out later - and earlier - and the birds are singing away all day long, not to mention there are not of ton of bugs out [yet], so long as there is a breeze, which is most of the time. Hello living on the prairies.
Lately, Tim and I, and our boy, Zeus, have been taking the suburban, which Tim recently fixed, out onto the grid roads around town. We go exploring, looking for interesting landscapes and abandoned buildings. It is so much fun and always a thrill finding these spots in the evening golden hour. We often find sweet locales and then return to them on another day, if we can swing it, during that perfect, photographic hour.
On one such exploring cruise, we headed south-west out of town and spotted a beauty of an abandoned building! It's roofline included a turret, standing uniquely stark against the sky. The turret is what drew us to this old home. Miraculously, turning onto a road leading towards the house brought us right up to it! This house was not, like many are, in the middle of a huge field with the driveway long gone. It was right on the side of the road. So convenient!
This house is exquisite. The architecture is so different from many old homes around here, making it an eye-catcher. I always like to imagine who lived here before it fell into ruin and what the house must have looked like in it's prime. Don't you just want to have your bedroom up in that turret?
