In the classroom on Fridays, we watch a fun video with the Rock Solid Refuge students after the morning break. Today's video was this one below. It was the first 'Kid President' video I have ever viewed and it turned out to be pretty entertaining. Going along with the American Thanksgiving [Happy belated Thanksgiving my American friends!], he has a list [you know how I love lists] of twenty-five things he is thankful for:
Ben's pride and joy.
Ben's sister named his car, "Stacey," this 1981 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. Ben built this car with the assistance of his Uncle Mike, the owner of the car we used in a shoot with Ben and his Grandma, Marolin, in August 2014.
At 6:30 PM on Friday, August 21st, Ben met me out front of Port Place shopping center in Nanaimo, I hopped in Stacey, and we drove to Chemainus where Ben had scouted out places he wanted to do this shoot. For those not from the Nanaimo area, Chemainus is known for its murals.
This is how the hood opens.
Back on Gabriola, Ben asked if I could capture him doing a burnout. Seeing as he needed new tires anyway, he thought we might as well have some fun with it!
This was my first experience of a burnout as well as riding in a Trans Am! Thanks Ben! Stacey is a beaut!
